Mipra Steel has traded metals from Khetwadi, Mumbai, since 2011 under proprietor Mitesh Shah. We import and buy high nickel alloy, superalloy and ferro alloy scrap from suppliers in India and abroad, and export and supply described lots to melt shops, foundries and traders, with offices in Dubai and South Korea.
What Is High Nickel Alloy Scrap?
Recoverable metal from alloys in which nickel is the base or a major alloying element, commonly 30% nickel or more.
High-nickel alloy scrap is recoverable metal from alloys in which nickel is the base or a major alloying element, commonly 30% nickel or more: Inconel, Incoloy, Hastelloy, Monel, Nimonic, Haynes and cast superalloys such as René, MAR-M and GTD. Its value comes from contained nickel plus molybdenum, cobalt, niobium, tungsten and tantalum, and depends on correct identification and segregation by grade.

Quality checking and compliance
How Scrap Quality Is Checked
A nickel alloy lot is worth what it can be shown to be. These are the checks the trade relies on before a lot changes hands. More in XRF vs OES vs lab analysis.
Check 01Composition
Handheld XRF or spark OES confirms the alloy elements, and lab analysis settles carbon and light elements when they decide the grade.
Check 02Documents
A mill certificate (EN 10204 3.1) or legible marking ties material to its original heat and specification.
Check 03Condition
Clean, dry, free of attachments, coatings, oil and other alloys; one grade per lot.
Check 04Compliance
Radiation-free certificate, correct HS code and the import or export documents the destination requires.

Is Monel 500 the same as Monel K-500?
Yes. "Monel 500" is trade shorthand for Monel K-500, UNS N05500: Monel 400 with aluminium and titanium added so it can be age-hardened.
How do you tell Inconel 625 from Inconel 718?
Iron and molybdenum. Inconel 625 carries about 9% molybdenum and at most 5% iron; Inconel 718 carries about 18% iron, about 3% molybdenum and more niobium. A handheld XRF separates them in one reading.
Is Incoloy 825 an Inconel?
No, although it is often listed that way. Alloy 825 (UNS N08825) is an iron-nickel-chromium Incoloy alloy with about 42% nickel and 30% iron.
Why can’t XRF confirm carbon content?
Carbon is too light to produce a measurable X-ray fluorescence signal. Spark OES or laboratory combustion analysis is used instead.
Is titanium scrap a nickel alloy?
No. Titanium is titanium-base with a hexagonal crystal structure, melted by a different route. We handle it as a separate line.
Why are turnings valued lower than solids?
Turnings carry oil and moisture, oxidise faster, can mix grades and need crushing and drying. Clean, dry, single-grade turnings close much of the gap.
