About Mipra Steel

Metals trading from Khetwadi, Mumbai, since 2011

Quick Answer

Mipra Steel has traded metals from Khetwadi, Mumbai, since 2011. Its scrap business focuses on high-nickel alloys: we buy and supply Inconel, Incoloy, Hastelloy, Monel, Nimonic, Haynes and cast superalloy scrap, plus titanium, carbide and duplex stainless, and we describe every lot by recognised grade, form and the evidence behind the grade.

Who We Are

Mipra Steel was established in 2011 and is run by its proprietor, Mitesh Shah, from Khetwadi in south Mumbai. The firm trades metal products, and its scrap business is built to trade a narrow group of materials well, not a wide range loosely. High-nickel alloys are expensive, look alike and are easily mixed. A lot of Inconel 625 with a few pieces of 316 in it, or GTD-111 blended with René 80, loses much of its value at the melt shop. Our business is built around keeping grades apart and proving what they are.

Our scrap business works on the same principle as our metals trading: describe material honestly. We give buyers and sellers something they can check, a grade-by-grade reference on this site, and lot descriptions that state the evidence behind each grade.

What We Trade

Our range covers the alloy systems that are traded as high-value scrap:

LineFamiliesTypical sources
Nickel alloysInconel, Incoloy, Hastelloy, Monel, Nimonic, HaynesChemical plant, oil and gas, furnace and heat-treat rebuilds, fabrication offcuts
SuperalloysRené, MAR-M, GTDTurbine overhauls and foundry revert
Exotic alloysTitanium, Tungsten carbide, Duplex and 254 SMO, Ni-ResistAerospace machining, tooling, offshore and desalination piping

The full list of 58 grades, with UNS numbers and compositions, is in the grade chart.

How We Work

  1. Grade first. Every lot is described by its recognised designation and UNS number, not by a loose trade name.
  2. Evidence, not assumption. We ask for the grade evidence available for each lot, such as XRF or OES readings, mill certificates or independent laboratory reports. See our quality approach.
  3. Segregation matters. Nickel alloys should be kept away from stainless, carbon steel and copper to prevent tramp-element contamination.
  4. Documented for export. Weight lists, photographs, grade evidence and the export documents each destination requires.
  5. Honest about what we don’t know. Where a trade name can’t be matched to a published designation, we say so, as with “Duplex 2207” in our duplex FAQ.

Who We Work With

Sellers

Process plants, fabricators, machine shops, turbine overhaul facilities and foundries with alloy scrap from shutdowns, machining or casting. Tell us the grade, form and quantity and we’ll review your enquiry.

Buyers

Melters, foundries, master-alloy producers and traders who need single-grade lots with the chemistry documented. Tell us the grade and quantity you need, and your destination.

Where We Work

We are based in Khetwadi, Mumbai, and handle import and export enquiries. Our market guides cover the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, North America and Australia. Each market page sets out the regulations, documents and HS codes that apply.

Why We Publish a Reference Site

Buyers and sellers of nickel alloy scrap need the same information: what a grade is made of, where it comes from, how to prove it and what it is worth. We set that out openly, grade by grade, in the knowledge centre and the grade index. It is the clearest way to show how we think about material before you trade with us.
