How Is S32760 Scrap Different from Other Super Duplex?
On paper S32760 and 2507 are near twins: same chromium, same nickel, same magnetic ferrite-austenite structure. The difference sits in two small additions. S32760 contains 0.5% to 1% copper and 0.5% to 1% tungsten, and slightly less molybdenum. Tungsten adds to pitting resistance alongside molybdenum, and the grade is produced to a minimum pitting resistance number of 40. Copper improves resistance in some acid conditions.
Those additions are tiny, yet they decide where the scrap can go. A producer melting S32760 welcomes them. A producer melting 2507 must keep copper under 0.5% and has no use for tungsten. So an S32760 lot has to be identified positively, not just as "super duplex", before anyone can say which furnace it suits.
In plant and in the scrap trade the grade goes by several names. F55 is its ASTM A182 forging designation, 1.4501 its European number, and Zeron 100 is a trade name long associated with it. Specifiers in seawater service have favoured it for pumps, valves and firewater systems, so the scrap tends to arrive as heavy, machined parts rather than thin sheet.
If your material reads like super duplex but copper and tungsten show zero, read the 2507 page instead. If chromium is nearer 22%, it is 2205.
Super duplex S32760 belongs to the Duplex and super-austenitic family, part of exotic alloy scrap.
Typical Sources of S32760 Scrap
S32760 scrap mostly comes from equipment that moves seawater under pressure. The parts are often heavy and well documented.
Seawater Lift and Firewater Pumps
Pump casings, impellers, shafts and bowls replaced on platforms, terminals and coastal plants. See marine scrap.
Offshore Valves and Manifolds
Ball, gate and check valve bodies, bonnets and trim from offshore process and utility systems. See oil and gas scrap.
Decommissioning
Removal of topside utility systems releases whole valve and pump assemblies, which need stripping of other metals before sale.
F55 Forging and Machining
Flange and valve-body machining from F55 forgings and bar leaves turnings and rejected parts, usually traceable by heat number.
Desalination and Coastal Industry
Seawater intake and cooling equipment in desalination and power plants. See desalination plant scrap.

How Super Duplex S32760 Scrap Is Identified
With S32760 the job is to prove the copper and tungsten are really there, at the right level.
| Check | What it shows for Super duplex S32760 |
|---|---|
| Tungsten 0.5% to 1% | The fingerprint. No other common duplex grade carries tungsten at this level. A modern XRF reads it easily. |
| Copper 0.5% to 1% | Present together with the tungsten. Copper alone, with no tungsten, needs a second look. |
| Chromium around 25%, molybdenum around 3.5% | Confirms super duplex rather than 2205. Molybdenum a little under 2507's 4%. |
| Magnet | Attracted. That excludes austenitic pump metals such as 316 and 254 SMO but not carbon-steel fasteners. |
| Mixed-metal assemblies | Pumps and valves may combine S32760 bodies with nickel-copper, bronze or other stainless trim. Read each part, not just the casing. |
Grades Most Often Confused with Super Duplex S32760
- Super duplex 2507: matches on chromium and nickel but shows about 4% molybdenum and essentially no copper or tungsten.
- Duplex 2205: has about 22.5% chromium, 5.5% nickel and no tungsten.
- Monel K-500: is sometimes used for pump shafts in the same equipment, but reads about 63% nickel and 30% copper.

Preparing Super Duplex S32760 Scrap for Sale
- Dismantle pumps and valves and read each component separately.
- Bag only pieces that show both copper and tungsten as S32760.
- Remove elastomer seals, packing, bronze bushes and carbon-steel fasteners.
- Store F55 turnings dry, in drums, apart from 2507 turnings.
- Keep certificates and photographs of F55 or 1.4501 stamps with the lot.
Super Duplex S32760 Scrap Price per Kg: What Decides It
What a buyer offers for S32760 depends less on a headline price per kg than on how certain and how clean the lot is.
- Nickel and molybdenum content, the main value carriers, with tungsten a small addition.
- Positive identification: a lot with copper and tungsten confirmed on every piece goes to buyers who melt S32760; an unconfirmed super duplex blend has fewer takers.
- Assemblies versus clean parts: complete pumps and valves carry other metals, seals and fasteners, so they are valued below stripped bodies and casings.
- Section size: heavy castings and forgings charge well; light parts and turnings cost more to handle.
- Traceability: F55 or 1.4501 certificates and heat numbers support the description.

Super Duplex S32760 Scrap Import and Export
Importing Super Duplex S32760 Scrap into India
Imports of S32760 into India mostly start in the Gulf and in European offshore regions, where seawater systems on platforms and terminals are replaced or removed. Inspection takes place before loading, and the cargo travels with its pre-shipment inspection certificate, commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading. Listing the material as super duplex S32760 on every document, with readings attached, prevents it being lumped in with 2507 or general stainless. Western India ports, Nhava Sheva and Mundra, handle most arrivals. See alloy scrap import guidance.
Exporting Super Duplex S32760 Scrap from India
Valve and pump makers in India machining F55 generate turnings and rejects that suit overseas super duplex melts. For export, lots are weighed, labelled S32760 with grade details on the invoice and packing list, and loaded in drums or bags into containers. Buyers in South Korea, Japan and Europe, including the Netherlands, use super duplex, and our Dubai and Korea offices help with both supply and delivery. See export documents.

Super Duplex S32760 Scrap FAQ
Is Zeron 100 the same as S32760?
Yes. Zeron 100 is a trade name for super duplex made to UNS S32760, so Zeron 100 scrap is S32760 scrap. Certificates may show the trade name, the UNS number, F55 or 1.4501, and all describe the same grade.
How do I tell S32760 from 2507 on an XRF?
Look for tungsten and copper. S32760 reads roughly 0.5% to 1% of each; 2507 shows essentially no tungsten and copper below 0.5%. Chromium and nickel are the same in both, so they do not help. Molybdenum is slightly lower in S32760.
Why should S32760 not go into a 2507 lot?
Because a 2507 melt cannot take its copper and tungsten. S32750 limits copper to 0.5% and has no tungsten addition, so S32760 pieces in a 2507 lot can push the chemistry outside what the buyer needs and lower the offer for the whole lot.
Are S32760 pump castings worth selling separately?
Yes, if they are confirmed by reading. Heavy casings and impellers are single-grade, easy to charge and often well documented, so they are worth more as S32760 than mixed into general stainless or super duplex scrap. Strip bronze, seals and fasteners first.
Under which HS heading does S32760 scrap ship?
Typically HS 7204.21, waste and scrap of stainless steel, because it is an iron-base stainless grade despite its nickel, molybdenum and tungsten. Ask your customs broker to confirm the full national tariff line for the destination.
Can Mipra Steel help sell S32760 scrap held in the Gulf?
Yes. Mipra Steel has an office in Dubai and buys super duplex from the region. Send the weight, location, photographs and any readings, and say whether the lot is stripped parts or complete assemblies.
What is Super duplex S32760 made of?
Nominally 62.8% iron, 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 3.5% molybdenum, 0.75% copper, 0.75% tungsten, plus about 0.25% nitrogen. Specification ranges vary by product form and standard.
