Which nickel alloys come from Saudi oil and gas plants?
Mainly Inconel 625 and Incoloy 825, often as clad or lined pipe, plus Hastelloy C-276 from sour gas and chemical service and Monel 400 from some refinery units. Super duplex is also common in seawater and produced water systems.
Why does Saudi Arabia produce super duplex and titanium scrap?
Seawater desalination plants use super duplex, 254 SMO and titanium because they resist chloride corrosion. When pumps, piping, evaporators and heat exchanger tubes are replaced, that material becomes scrap, usually in clean, single-grade lots that are straightforward to identify.
What does NACE MR0175 mean on Saudi material?
NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 sets requirements for materials used in sour service, where hydrogen sulphide is present. Much oil and gas material in the Gulf is supplied to it. For scrap, the certificate helps confirm the original grade, but the material is still traded on its chemistry.
